Connected vehicles are transforming everyday life in the workshop—especially when it comes to diagnostics. At the CLEPA Aftermarket Conference in Brussels, MAHLE demonstrated exactly how you can benefit from this with RemotePRO Air: digital remote diagnostics, without additional hardware, directly via your TechPRO® 2.
While Peter Sohmer and Mariangelo Troiani from the development department in Stuttgart were preparing a vehicle, the live demo was taking place in Brussels: Felix-Matthias Walter and Christian Lemme performed the diagnostics remotely in real time. The result: reading error codes, narrowing down problems, and making decisions—even though the vehicle and the users were hundreds of kilometers apart.
RemotePRO Air is the first solution that gives independent workshops access to the data interfaces of modern, connected vehicles. In short: You can access information that was previously often only available to the manufacturer. What this means for your daily work: You don’t need any additional hardware; you simply use your existing TechPRO® 2. You can identify faults early and accurately, even before the customer breaks down. This makes your processes more efficient because you know what’s wrong with the vehicle even before the actual repair. And when communicating with customers, you can clearly and understandably explain where the problem lies and what steps are truly necessary
RemotePRO Air is already integrated into all active TechPRO® 2 licenses, so you don’t need to upgrade or make any modifications. Currently, the BMW, Mini, Mercedes-Benz, and Smart brands are supported. Billing is based on the MAHLE Coins model: You take no risk, as costs are only incurred once you have successfully completed a diagnosis.
MAHLE is already working on the next phases of development. Additional vehicle manufacturers will be added in the future. New connectivity features are also planned—such as access to real-time data and expanded maintenance and service information. For you, this means more brands, more data, and more opportunities to ensure your independent workshop remains on equal footing with OEM service centers.
