“A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck will be.” With this famous quote from hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, Philipp Grosse Kleimann, Head of Aftermarket, perfectly summarized MAHLE's strategy, emphasizing the company's focus on electrification, digitalization, and sustainability. But one thing is clear: MAHLE will continue to be a reliable, full-service provider for all types of drives, serving customers worldwide.

Open to All Technologies: The Path to the Future

Achieving this requires more than just staying in tune with current trends. The future undeniably belongs to e-mobility—on the road and in the workshop.

However, internal combustion engines will also continue to play a key role for years to come. To bridge these two worlds, MAHLE is making substantial investments in the development of solutions, systems, and products for both today’s and tomorrow’s drives.

The BatteryPRO product line is a prime example of this forward-thinking approach.

The Main Players

Michael Moser, Head of Engineering Battery Diagnostics, demonstrated on a Polestar how the health of a high-voltage battery can be determined in just 15 minutes.

All that’s needed is the E-Health App and the E-Health Charge device. The device charges the battery in a specific pattern while collecting data, which is then supplemented with information from the vehicle’s OBD port. The analysis is conducted via the E-Health app and Volytica Diagnostics’ cloud-based battery specialist system.

The collected data is compared to other batteries of the same type and matched against the vehicle's original capacity. In just 15 minutes, a diagnostic report is generated and can be sent via email.

TechPRO® 2

The demonstration continued with MAHLE TechPRO® 2, the next-generation diagnostic system, presented by Andreas Dippel from MAHLE’s Technical Service/Hotline Training.

The diagnostic tablet features a new user interface and simplified operation, guiding users through the diagnostic process.

Even the journalists were able to try their hand at diagnostics without prior experience.

Another key advantage of the MAHLE TechPRO® 2 tablet is its rugged design, built to withstand workshop conditions. Dippel proved this convincingly—without any visible damage.

E-CARE Fluid

The event also featured an exciting new innovation: E-CARE Fluid, the latest all-in-one solution for the cooling systems of electric vehicles. According to Mariangelo Troiani, HV Battery Field Technician, the device can not only replace and refill coolant but also test the system for leaks.

Thanks to the E-database, the service follows manufacturer specifications. E-CARE Fluid captures the coolant and stores it in a tank, allowing the old coolant to be reused. If the coolant needs to be replaced, the device can mix and refill the system automatically.

The technician demonstrated how easy it is to handle—wearing a white T-shirt, he managed to stay spotless throughout the entire process.
