What if you knew the vehicle’s condition before the customer even pulled into your shop? Spare parts are ordered, the lift and a qualified mechatronics technician are booked, the maintenance schedule and tools are ready, and the diagnostic tool is set up – no surprises, no delays, and shorter repair times. The new RemotePRO Air remote diagnostics feature for the TechPRO® 2 diagnostic tool is the first solution on the independent repair market that gives you remote access to connected vehicles, keeping you in the loop at all times.
Remote diagnostics is a great feature when you need assistance with complex tasks such as programming components or performing software updates directly on the vehicle. With RemotePRO Air, MAHLE takes this feature to a whole new level: access to the vehicle, even when it’s not in your shop. All you need is the TechPRO® 2 diagnostic tool with a license; the RemotePRO Air feature is already integrated into it. This gives you the ability to immediately start a remote diagnosis for connected vehicles from BMW, Mini, Mercedes-Benz, and Smart. The range of vehicles is being continuously expanded. Additional options such as clearing the fault memory, real-time data transmission from the vehicle to the workshop, and comprehensive information on maintenance and service will be integrated in the future.
Before you can use this feature, the vehicle owner must approve a data request. The repair shop can then access cloud-based manufacturer data and receive precise information about the vehicle's condition, available updates, and customized maintenance schedules. RemotePRO Air generates a detailed diagnostic report that you can use to advise your customers – from preventive maintenance and quick remote diagnostics for urgent issues to continuous monitoring services after repairs.
With increasing digitalization and connectivity, remote diagnostics will become an important part of future repair and service work. This will fundamentally change everyday workshop operations and pave the way for greater efficiency, smarter workshop planning, optimized processes, and the development of new business areas.
The new service is paid for using MAHLE Coins. This gives workshops maximum flexibility, as a diagnosis is only charged for after it has been successfully completed. The solution was developed in cooperation with the German technology startup DC Connected.
